-We never got to talk since the protests.
Black Lives Matter has been happening in our country,
fighting for racial justice.
How do you think that will 'A'
this presidential election?

Rachel:
That's a very good question.
I'm a real believer that direct action works,
that when people protest and when people take to the streets
and when people organize to express themselves,
it has a political effect.
I don't think it's an 'B' thing.
And in this case, I think especially because the protests
were so big, that was not -- that was not a sign that people
believed the system doesn't work for them
and they're gonna check out of it.
Those protests being so widespread and so big
and having so much support, I think,
was a vote of confidence in people wanting
to make the country better
and being willing to spend time and effort to do it.
So I -- I, you know, I saw a lot of voter registration
and sort of voter organizing stuff happen around that,
and I think those demonstrations have had a long tail
in the country in terms of people still caring about it
and talking about it, and I do think that is
gonna dovetail with sort of get out the vote
and voter registration efforts.
At least that's what it seems like to me now,
but we've got 70-some-odd days between now and the election,
and feels like anything could happen.

Jimmy:
-Yeah, it really does feel like anything can happen.
I mean, Kanye West is running for president.
